Our Leadership
Pastor Nick Metivier
I'm Nicholas Metivier, but you can call me Nick. My partner in crime, Charmila and I I have two young, lively, beautiful children together. I am a husband, a father, and a pastor.
Pastoring is about more than what I do. It is about who I am. And I am someone who cannot imagine a life without God. Therefore, I endeavour to live a life “worthy of the calling I have received” (Eph. 4:1). My walk is certainly not one of perfection, but is worth absolutely everything. Jesus is worth everything.
Living this life is seeking the Spirit’s leading and direction to meet my people where they are in their walk with Christ – from the most faithful members, to our newest attendees, to those who have not darkened the door in years, to those somewhere in-between. Some have known the LORD for a long time, some a short time, and still others have yet to meet the LORD. We all need to start somewhere. In fact, I have a particular heart for those who sit on the periphery of church, and I have a desire to see them know God more. Wherever people are in their faith journey, my mission is to walk alongside them.
Walking alongside my people looks like diving into people’s struggles and triumphs over a warm beverage. It is visiting people in their homes, at a community park, and in my office. Walking alongside my people is laughing and crying at a patient’s bedside. It looks like leading in studies and prayer meetings. It looks like listening to deep questions, or hearing a person’s life story in a chance encounter. These are the ordinary things of faith in the simple life we are called to live.
Whether you’re struggling, questioning, worshiping, or celebrating, I’d be delighted to meet with you, hear from you, and pray with you.
Yours in Christ,
-Nick
