Knox Church is delighted to announce that we have hired a new full time minister!
The members and friends of Knox Presbyterian Church are excited to welcome our new minister, Nicholas Metivier. Pastor Nick comes to Midland from Shannon, Quebec.
The Induction Service for Pastor Nick will be held Sunday, March 1 at 3:00 pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, 248 Midland Avenue, Midland. An Induction service is a very memorable event, and we wish to share this event with our Midland community.
The service will be conducted by The Rev. Joanne Lee, Interim Moderator, and the message will be brought by The Rev. Sarah Stockford of the Mansfield and Alliston Presbyterian Churches.
The Induction will be attended by many Presbyterian ministers from the Presbytery of Barrie and ministers from local churches are invited to welcome Pastor Nick.
We invite our Midland community to this special worship service and an opportunity to meet Pastor Nick afterwards.
A Bit About Our Pastor
“Greetings People of Midland.
I'm Nicholas Metivier, but you can call me Nick. I hail from Riverview, NB. I studied at Knox College which resembles Hogwarts from Harry Potter. I also want you to know that I used to be a coffee slinger for the mighty Tim Hortons empire…twice. I’ve also slugged through jobs in warehouses and factories. More recently, I taught English as a Second Language, and I currently reside in Shannon Quebec with Charmila, my partner in crime. Charmila and I have two children named Nathaniel (3) and Evelyn (10 months). They’re the cutest, smartest, fastest, best babies. I may be biased, but I’m excited for you to meet them. I look forward to worshiping with you, and I feel a sense of call to you.”
We will continue having guest preachers until our permanent pastor Nick takes over in March, 2026.

We have several “small groups” here at Knox, all with their unique function and are tailored to the different needs of the men and women in our church.
For Men we have the “Guy Thing” small group, and for women we have “Healing Hearts” and “Friends in Faith” small groups.
We also offer space to support addiction recovery groups.
